Warmest congratulations

The UIUC crew just shared this fitting medium for a worldwide (web) tribute to your well-deserved Alonso award. I particularly enjoyed the 1994 shot of us in front of RRI - mon dieu, were we really once that young? - which also brought back welcome memories of your helpful support while I was there.

You also played a unique role in Becky and I finding each other, which I'm not sure I ever told you. Shortly after arriving in Fort Collins, I was on my way to NARSC DC in 1996, armed with what I thought might be a response to your concern that there was no beer brewed in the U.S. comparable to what you enjoyed in Belgium. Before handing it off to you in DC, I used it as a prop for my game-theory presentation on the role of brewpubs/microbreweries in the redevelopment of industrial districts. Becky was in the audience that day, and she introduced herself after the session. Later, she would comment that she really liked the New Belgium Fat Tire prop. So, I have many reasons to thank you.

Merci, Luc, et felicitations....

Stephan
