Welcome & Purpose

Dear friends, colleagues, and students of Luc,

As many of you know, Luc will receive the 2006 William Alonso Memorial Prize for innovative work in regional science for his development of the LISA statistics and the GeoDa software. The prize is awarded on Saturday, November 18, at the NARSC conference in Toronto.

We created this blog as an informal forum where everyone can post greetings, stories, and/or photos that are related to having known and worked with Luc over the years.

We will celebrate with Luc after the award luncheon (in a bar with Belgian beer ;) If we get enough postings, we could start the evening by connecting one of our Apple laptops ;) to surprise Luc with the blog content.
